This image has the words “Men are parents too”written boldly over a female’s face. In society today, there is a typical stereotype where women tend to be the caretakers of their children, and men are the money makers for the family. It is unfair for women because they are the ones left with the “easy” and “non-educated” work while they are just as capable and qualified as men to get a real job.

If you take a look at this chart, you can see that the percentage of “Mother only in labor force” is 3.7%, while the percentage of “Father only in labor force” is 27.4%. That is a 1:9 ratio of the difference between how much females work compared how much men work. That is a big difference, even for the generation we live in today.Women want a change in this, and although the women’s percentage in the work field has increased over hundreds of years, women are still often underestimated with our abilities. Women are here for more than just for good looks, taking care of children, washing dishes, and feeding their husbands; we have great minds and talented skills that are extremely useful for society.

I chose this picture because I think women are often under-represented in the world today. I would like to see more women in the science, government and political, and engineering departments, all of which are male dominated areas. I guess you can just call me a feminist.
